Statewide Convening FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I register at the venue?
    • No. Onsite registration is NOT an option.  All attendees must register in advance.
  • How do I make changes to my registration?
    • At the bottom of your confirmation email, there is a link that will allow you to make edits to your registration.
  •  What is the dress code?
    • The dress code is business casual. Because the facility is so large, it is hard to regulate heating and cooling to the satisfaction of all. Therefore, it is wise to dress in layers when you attend any event at the McKimmon Center. Staff members keep light sweaters available year-round “just in case” – you may want to do the same!
  • What is the onsite COVID-19 Protocol?
    • Masking is required. Additionally, if you’re not feeling well on the day of the event or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, we ask that you join us virtually, instead of in-person. Click here for the full list of health and safety protocols.
  • Is proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result required?
    • Neither are required but both are encouraged.  Additionally, if you’re not feeling well on the day of the event or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, we ask that you join us virtually instead of in-person. Click here for the full list of health and safety protocols.
  • If I have additional questions, who can I contact?
  •  Is there any cost to attend the convening?
    • The convening is free, but space is limited. We ask groups to limit themselves to two participants per organization if possible.
  •  Is there any cost for parking?
    • Designated visitor parking in the front lots of the McKimmon Center is free and usually plentiful. There are three smaller parking lots on each side of the Center that are reserved for University employees.
    • Visitors are asked to park in designated visitor parking spaces in order to avoid ticketing.
  • What accessibility supports are available for this event?
    • There are designated parking spaces for people with disabilities and an automatic door on the left side of the building as you pull in the front driveway. The space is all on one level so there will be no need to go up and down stairs during the event. The general session space is equipped with assisted listening devices.
    • Please send any accessibility questions to Angeline Echeverría at Angeline@NCCounts.org or 919-480-8723.
