COVID-19 Policy

NC Counts is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and accessible event.  Below are the COVID-19 health and safety protocols for the "We Still Count" Statewide Convening.

  • Masking: Masks are required during indoor activities unless you are presenting, eating, drinking, or cannot mask due to a medical or behavioral condition or disability. We will provide high-quality masks to any participant who needs one. Hand sanitizer will also be widely available.
  • Testing: All participants are encouraged to take a home COVID-19 test within 24 hours before the event. We will mail you a test if you don’t have one and will provide tests at registration for any participant who requests one. If you are not feeling well, please stay home, and we will provide you with access to the event virtually.
  • Vaccines: All participants are encouraged to get vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 prior to attending the event. You can schedule your vaccination appointment here: https://takemyshot.nc.gov/
  • Air Quality: The McKimmon Center has reprogrammed the HVAC systems to bring in as much outside air as possible to improve ventilation and indoor air quality. They have also reprogrammed the systems to run for two hours before and after the regular building occupancy schedule, providing additional building air filtration and outside air for ventilation. NC State has also installed MERV 13 filters in the air handlers throughout the McKimmon Center. These filters were recommended by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and are somewhat more effective at capturing smaller airborne particles. NC State will continue reviewing ongoing recommendations from the CDC, public health experts, professional society, and trade organizations.
